About
Our story
It started with skin that needed something gentler
Outis began at a kitchen counter in Dallas, Oregon, not as a business, but as a fix. Store-bought bars were leaving our family's skin tight and itchy, and the "natural" ones still leaned on synthetic fragrance. So we started making our own, the slow cold-process way, with real oils and no shortcuts.
The tea came later, and it changed everything. Steeping real Earl Grey, chamomile, and black tea into the batch gave the soap a scent that felt honest, like the cup, not the candle aisle. One bar became a shelf, the shelf started following the seasons, and friends started asking for boxes to give away.
The slow way is the only way we know how to make it.
Everything is still made here, by hand, in small batches: brewed, poured, cured for weeks, and hand-cut. We only say what's true about a bar: what's in it, how it's made, how it'll feel. And we'd rather make a little of something good than a lot of something ordinary.
If you ever have a question (a scent, a custom gift, a wholesale order), we read every message ourselves. Reach us any time through Instagram, Facebook, or our contact page, and we'll get back to you personally.

Why we make what we make
Type 1 diabetes is personal for our family. It shapes how we think about the small, everyday comforts, and it is part of why Outis exists at all.
The October Box, back each fall. Every October we release a limited gift package, made in small numbers and gone when it is gone.
Brewed, not fragranced
We steep real tea into every batch. The scent comes from the cup, not a synthetic oil.
Gentle by design
Cold-process and small-batch, made originally for our own sensitive skin. No harsh detergents.
Cut by hand, cured for weeks
Every bar is poured, hand-cut, and rested until it is firm and long-lasting.
